Environment Variables

env

Accessing context variables from the call environment.

For supported variables please refer to the comet documentation.

Template:

{{env "APP_NAME"}}

If the context contains:

{
  "APP_NAME": "My Shop"
}

Result:

My App

Template with fallback value:

{{env "MISSING_KEY" "Default Value"}}

The result will be:

setenv

Setting an environment-specific variable within the handlebar execution context. A variable can only be set once per execution context and cannot be overridden by later calls to setenv.

This is used in conjunction with the env helper. In the example below previously unset variable abc is set twice. The second setenv has no effect.

{{env 'abc' }}            → ''
{{setenv 'abc' '123' }}
{{env 'abc' }}            → "123"
{{setenv 'abc' '456' }}
{{env 'abc' }}            → "123"
